The Speaker is Representative Dafna Michaelson Jenet, who represents District 30 in the State Legislature.

Dafna Michaelson Jenet is a State Representative serving Colorado's 30th House District. First elected in 2016, Jenet has a 20 year career in non-profit leadership. In 2009, she traveled to all 50 United States and Washington DC in one calendar year to find and share stories of ordinary people solving problems in their communities. Her book about her travels, It Takes a Little Crazy to Make a Difference, won the 2015 International Book Award in the Social Change category. Jenet's work has been covered by CBS Sunday Morning, CNN.com, Maya Angelou, Denver Post and others. She is a graduate of Yeshiva University Stern College for Women, University of Denver Daniels College of Business, and recently completed a certificate with Harvard Kennedy School of Government Executive Education. Jenet's second book, Peanut's Legacy, is expected to be published in September by Motivational Press. Jenet just completed her first legislative session where she had an 82% success rate, sending 9 bills to the Governor’s desk, and introducing more bills and resolutions than any other member of her freshman class. Her focus areas are suicide prevention, youth in the criminal justice system, education, public health and small business. Jenet also served as the chair of the Cancer Caucus. She lives in Commerce City, Colorado with her husband Michael and is mother to 3 children; her daughter Gavi is a high-school junior studying abroad in France, her son Eytan is a high school sophomore and her son Ryan is a United States Marine.   Ms. Jenet will be speaking about the one bill that she wasn't able to pass, regarding suicide prevention.   Please join us and bring your enthusiasm and your questions to share.
